About Tim Duffy
TIM DUFFY, CONSUMER ADVOCATE
Tim Duffy is a Consumer Advocate and Investigative Reporter
who runs a web site, www.timduffy.com,
that provides information and helps with consumer-related
problems.
He consults regularly with the California State
Senate, Department of Agriculture Division of Weights and
Measurement Standards and the Los Angeles County Board of
Supervisors on point-of-sale scanner legislation.
Prior to his
current position, he was in direct sales and management, and
legal investigation – where he was officially made a Deputy
U.S. Marshal for one case – and had a short career as an
actor appearing in two movies.
Tim also did a
consumer-oriented radio show based in Los Angeles on CBS’s
Infinity Broadcasting KLSX 97.1 FM and KRLA 1110 AM for over
two years.
Tim has appeared on Hard Copy, 48
Hours, Fox, CBS, MSNBC, UPN, PBS, The Learning Channel and
three shows with Alan Mendelson on KCAL 9 in Los Angeles plus
dozens of local television and radio stations across the
nation. He appeared on a TV show for Channel 7 in Sydney,
Australia and in magazines and newspapers, including The New
York Times, Bottom Line, Smart Money, Christian Science
Monitor and many more.
While working as an investigator, Tim traveled and worked with
Muhammad Ali and Richard Wayne Penniman, a.k.a. Little
Richard.
Tim's favorite charity is the YWCA Wings battered woman's and
children shelter.
Tim's goal is to inform, educate and make you a savvier
consumer.
Born in Oneonta, New York, Tim now lives with his
wife and two cats, Blackie and
Fluffy, in
California.
Tim’s plans for the future include a nationally
syndicated consumer-related radio show and newspaper column.
