Bad Breakfast

Tim,

I woke up at about 9:45 this morning and my kids and I decided to go to Carl's Jr. for breakfast. Three of my 4 children, ages 3, 8 & 9 were going to go with me. I've been going to this Carl's Jr. for almost 10 years now.

I know for a fact that breakfast ends at 10:30 a.m. By the time we got to Carl's Jr. It was about 10:27 and I was surprised to hear that breakfast was no longer going to be served.

I asked the cashier, who also happened to be the manager at the time, why breakfast has stopped serving. She told me it was 10:38. This was almost 10 minutes off my very reliable clock in my car.

At this time I had asked for a customer service line that I can contact and she was very defensive and didn't give it to me at 1st. She started giving me an attitude and the rudeness began.

I stood there waiting for her to take my order but she didn't. All in all, I would like to keep going to this establishment but after today, it makes it very hard for me to be a customer. I am debating on whether or not to
hire a consumers advocate lawyer.

Bad Breakfast

Tim's Answer

Dear Bad Breakfast,

Sorry to hear that you missed breakfast, one of the most important meals of the day. I can't say who was at fault for the time difference between your clock and the restaurant's. I do know that not all clocks are the same; an example of this was my granddaughter's school. All of last year their clock was six minutes fast and they wouldn't fix it. Also a place I worked at years ago made it clear to the employees to work their shift by the office clock and no other.

As to the cashier's rudeness I suggest that you call Carl's customer service and tell them of your displeasure. I'm sure their customer service is as good as their Six Dollar Burger. They might even treat you to your next breakfast.

I don't think you need a lawyer.
