Costco Film
|
Tim,
Can you give me your advice??? We just returned from
CHINA, took 14 rolls of film and took the film to Costco for
developing and printing. Costco seems to have lost TWO rolls
of the film. What is your opinion of the compensation that I
should request?? These photos are very important to us and
China is a long way to go to re-shoot the photos. Your
advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks. Mel

Mel.
This is a situation where you will need the advice of an
attorney. Before that you should get a copy of the store's
policy on lost film. Most likely you will find a notice that
their liability is limited to the replacement of the film.
This notice may or may not be an in forcible contract in the
state of California. The courts have ruled that some tickets,
claim checks and signs are invalid either because of the
wording or the size of the type used to print the notice.
This is something only a professional can ascertain. If you
have a case and the possible recovery is less than $5,000.00
then the attorney can guide you as to what laws if any to cite
in small claims court. Good luck. Let me know the
outcome.
