Letters to Tim
Lawyer Referral Fee's

Dear Consumer Advocate:

We represent consumers in regard to various consumer fraud actions. Currently we are representing consumers in actions involving products ranging from vehicles to diet supplements.

Your site is quite good. I would like to discuss the possibility of a cooperative arrangement whereby you would refer consumers (i.e., who have complaints about diet aids that they have used) to us for representation.

In exchange, we will be happy to agree to send your organization a donation equivalent to 5% of each consumer case.

Please let me know if this is of interest to you. If so, then perhaps we can set a time to speak by phone.

Thank you and best regards,

XXXX Law Group

Tim's Answer

Law Group,

Thank you for the kind comments regarding my website.

After reading your offer of 5% of each consumer case referred I have to decline for the following reasons.

Current California Rules of Professional Conduct Rule 1-320. Financial Arrangements With Non-Lawyers also CALIFORNIA BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONS CODE SECTION 6150-6156.

I would be happy to reconsider your offer upon receipt of a favorable opinion from the California State Bar Ethics Committee.

I'm also available as an expert witness on consumer issues (primarily bar code scanners).

Tim
