Run the Scammers out of Town!
If the sale is being held in a Motel/Hotel or leased space in a local store, for the one day sale.

There is a very high degree of likelihood that the people running the sale don't have a city or county business license or a permit to collect sales tax in your state.

Call your local county or city business license office then call your county or state sales tax office and ask to speak to an investigator.

If the seller is an out of state corporation they are also required to register with your states Secretary of State as an out of state corporation, doing business in your state and pay the appropriate fee's. This is in addition to the city or county business license and sales tax permit.

The above steps can help shut them down. One last thing this will only work if you contact the agency's above before the sale is held. After the sale the scammers have most likely moved on to the next state.

Send Tim an email and let him know your results.

PS Don't forget to send Tim the ad!

How do I know this is a scam?
